We always enjoy working in new sectors. Architectural expertise is the art and science of creating beautiful, functional spaces that provide for current and future needs. This spans across all building types. We don’t assume we know what you need – even if we have worked for clients in your profession before, we won’t come with preconceived ideas. Our approach is relational, we want to collaborate to create buildings that properly meet real needs and make a positive difference to the wellbeing of those who will use and enjoy them.
We follow the RIBA plan of work and are happy to play our part and help you on your building project journey from inception to completion or for as long as we are adding value.
We have our own project process pathway that builds on the strong foundation of the RIBA workstages and adds in services, tools and outputs that bring added value to our clients and their projects.
Our projects are widespread across the UK and we have worked in very many different local authorities.
Where there are particular concerns or a history of planning challenges, we may suggest that planning consultants are brought in to help and advise on planning strategy and place any planning application in the strongest position.
We can usually begin working on projects swiftly and have a good network of freelance architects and architectural technologists to help with the usual ebb and flow of architectural projects. The variety of our work means that project move at very different paces and we’re able to assign resource and prioritise our work on a day by day, week by week basis.
We can advise on timescales to manage expectations and mitigate financial risk of abortive fees. We have an excellent network of professional consultants and contractors and can advise on the most appropriate building contract procurement route to expedite your project.
Our approach is relational and collaborative, we often recommend that building contractors are engaged to input into early design stages. We are experts in design, contractors are experts in delivery and have valuable insights that can help reduce time and cost if we take time to listen and work together.
This generally depends on the size of the project, it isn’t efficient for us to work on a small project a long distance away though there’s much that can be achieved through video link to reduce journey times.
For clients with whom we are likely to build a longer relationship we are very happy to travel. Most projects will generally be within a 2 hour travel time from our office but we have worked further afield successfully for the right project.
