The single storey extension to this house connected the back of the house with the existing garage. The garage was converted to become a snug & garden room and the small dining room and kitchen were opened out into the extension to create a good-sized kitchen & family room opening out into the garden.
The modest extension and internal changes have made a dramatic impact, changing the way the house and garden can be enjoyed and resulting in a different way of life for the family. The small, confined cellular rooms at the back of the house have become a light-filled, airy space. The addition of the snug & garden room and retention of the lounge at the front of the house provide a variety of spaces, providing flexibility for the growing family in the way it can adapt with the evolving family needs over time.
